How AI Commercials Are Made: Inside the Frostah Campaign

Product commercials have always been one of the most expensive minutes in advertising: studio rentals, food stylists, macro lenses, reshoots. For Frostah’s freeze-dried fruit snacks, we produced a fully AI-generated commercial with photorealistic product cinematography — and the process says a lot about where brand content is heading.

The Brief Comes First

Frostah needed appetite appeal: crisp textures, bursting citrus, the satisfying crack of freeze-dried orange. We translated that into a creative brief exactly as we would for a live shoot — key visuals, pacing, product hero moments, and the feeling the viewer should leave with.

Photorealism Is a Discipline

Food is unforgiving. Viewers know instantly when a product shot feels wrong. Getting AI-generated macro shots to hold up meant obsessing over surface detail: sugar crystals, fruit fibers, the way light refracts through a dried orange slice. Every hero shot went through many generations before it earned its place.

The advantage over a physical shoot is not just cost — it is freedom. Camera moves that would need motion-control rigs, lighting that would need hours of setup, impossible angles inside the product itself: all become directable decisions instead of budget lines.

Brand Consistency Matters More, Not Less

With AI, it is easy to generate something beautiful and off-brand. The packaging, colors, and typography in every shot had to match Frostah’s real identity. We rebuilt brand elements precisely and composited them where generation alone was not reliable enough. The result reads as a premium commercial, not an AI experiment.

What This Means for Brands

A commercial like Frostah’s compresses weeks of traditional production into a focused creative sprint. For brands, that changes the mathematics of content: campaign variations, seasonal versions, and localized cuts stop being luxuries. If your product deserves cinema-grade advertising, the barrier is no longer the production budget — it is the idea.
