Meta Advantage+ creative is the set of tools inside Meta Ads Manager that adjusts and generates ad creative for you, much of it with generative AI. It can write text variations, build new versions of your product images, animate still photos, expand videos to fit more placements and translate your text and voiceover. You stay in control: each enhancement can be reviewed, customized or switched off before you publish.
This guide explains what the AI features do today, which ones touch Arabic, how Meta labels AI content, and where a director-made video still matters for Gulf brands.
What Is Meta Advantage+ Creative?
Advantage+ creative is Meta's name for enhancements that optimize your images, videos and text into versions your audience is more likely to interact with. Meta's Business Help Center says the enhancements on offer depend on your ad format, your placements and whether you use a catalog.
Some enhancements may be turned on by default. And the media and text you upload may be adjusted, while Meta tries to keep the core message of your campaign. If you turn on the branding feature, Meta says it will try to apply your brand preferences in some enhancements.
Which Meta AI Creative Tools Exist Today?
Meta tags every enhancement that uses generative AI with an "AI" label in its help center. The ones that matter most for video ad buyers:
- Text generation. Up to 5 variations of primary text and headline, with the option to generate them using personas.
- Image generation. Places your product, or a person, in new environments and ad styles, or creates variations from a reference image. Single image ads only.
- Background generation. Creates diverse versions of your product images. Advantage+ catalog ads only.
- Add animation. Adds panning, zooming and rotating to eligible images, turning them into short videos.
- Video touch-ups. Crops your video, or generates new pixels so it fits 9:16 or 4:5. Expansion covers up to the first 15 seconds and runs in Facebook Feed and Facebook Reels.
- Video subtitles. Generates subtitles from the audio, for single video ads with English voiceovers on Instagram Reels.
What Meta announced in October 2026
At Advertising Week New York on October 6, 2026, Meta said generating video from existing static assets in Advantage+ creative is now generally available. Ads Creative Studio, where you can generate video concepts, change hooks, adjust audio and clip length, and add text overlays and captions, is rolling out to more advertisers. Turning catalog product images into product video is in beta for eligible advertisers.
Meta lists no countries for these features in that announcement, so check your own Ads Manager to see what is available to you.
Which Meta AI Ad Tools Work in Arabic?
Arabic appears in two of Meta's three translation features. According to Meta's help page on generative AI translations:
- Text translations translate primary text and headline from English into a list that includes Arabic. You cannot edit the translated text, but you can see it in the ad preview.
- Voiceover translations dub a video's original voiceover, and English to Arabic is supported. They work for single video ads on Facebook Feed, Instagram Feed, Instagram Reels and Instagram Stories.
- Overlay translations do not list Arabic.
Meta says translation is expanding gradually and is not available in all regions or languages. It does not say which Arabic dialect the output uses, so have a native speaker check every translated line before you publish.
How Does Meta Label AI-Generated Ads?
Meta adds an "AI info" label to ads made or significantly edited with some of its own generative tools, such as Background Generation, Image Generation and Add Animation. Viewers find it in the three-dot menu under "About this ad".
Meta says it also labels ads it detects were made with third-party generative AI tools, using industry signals such as C2PA metadata. Before you publish, Ads Manager shows a message when an AI info label will appear.
Meta's label is a floor, not the whole job. At Sawa Films we always disclose AI in our ads, and we explain why in our post on AI-generated ads disclosure.
How Do You Turn Off Advantage+ Creative Enhancements?
You can switch off any enhancement during ad creation or after publishing. Meta's steps, in short:
- In Ads Manager, build your ad and choose Single image or video, or Carousel.
- In Ad creative, click Set up creative and go to Enhancements.
- Turn off or customize each enhancement you do not want.
- Open Advanced preview, because some enhancements can only be turned off there.
- Use the Advantage+ creative tab to scroll through the variations Meta may show, then save.
For a live ad, select it, click Edit, open the Advantage+ creative section and check both places again.
A Walked-Through Example: An Oud Brand Testing Meta AI
Say you sell oud online in Riyadh. You have one director-made 20 second video, a hand lifting the lid of a wooden box as smoke rises while a woman speaks about the scent in Saudi dialect, plus six clean product photos. This is an example, not a real client.
Here is how you could use Advantage+ creative without losing the brand.
- Protect the hero video. Check video touch-ups in Advanced preview. If expansion would invent pixels around the box or the hand, turn it off and upload your own 9:16 and 4:5 cuts.
- Use text generation for copy tests. Generate variations, then delete any line that promises something you cannot back up.
- Let the photos carry the AI work. Run image generation on the product photos in a separate single image ad, and review every variation.
- Skip voiceover translation here. Your voice is already Arabic, and Meta's dubbing starts from English.
- Read the AI info message. If a label will appear, keep it, and add your own clear disclosure in the caption.
Where a Director-Made Video Still Matters
Meta's tools start from what you give them: your images, your video and your text. They resize, vary, animate and translate. They do not choose your idea, cast the right face, judge whether a Khaleeji line sounds natural, or decide what the first frame should show.
That is where a director still earns a place. A strong source video gives every AI variation a better starting point. If you also advertise on TikTok, compare this with TikTok Symphony's AI ad tools, which take a similar approach on another platform.
Common Mistakes With Meta AI Creative
- Leaving every default on. Some enhancements start on. Check Ad creative and Advanced preview before publishing.
- Skipping the previews. Image generation and media text variations can be reviewed one by one.
- Trusting translation blind. Translated text cannot be edited, and the dialect is not specified. If a line reads wrong, turn translation off.
- Feeding weak source material. AI variations of a dull video are still dull.
- Treating the AI info label as your only disclosure. Say it in your own words too.
FAQ
Does Meta label ads made with AI?
Yes. Meta applies an AI info label to ads made or significantly edited with some of its generative tools, such as Image Generation, Background Generation and Add Animation, and to ads it detects were made with third-party AI tools. It sits under "About this ad" in the three-dot menu.
Can Meta translate my ad into Arabic?
Partly. Text translations and voiceover translations both list English to Arabic, while overlay translations do not. Meta says these features roll out gradually, so availability can differ by account and region.
Can I turn off Advantage+ creative enhancements?
Yes. You can turn each one off during ad creation or after publishing. Check both the Enhancements step and Advanced preview, because some enhancements can only be switched off in Advanced preview.
